Can you believe TOMORROW is December?! Where has 2017 gone?! I swear time goes by faster the older I get. Anyone else feel that way?
I typically am not in the Holiday Spirit until December 1st, but I just couldn’t get away from it this year! I got swept up in the sparkle and tinsel and have completely caved to the mistletoe mania. The weekend after Thanksgiving ALL of my decor was up and 75% of the gifts wrapped and under the tree! Only thing I have to do in December is shoot and edit a few posts for y’all! Even though I am full throttle into the Christmas season I have a weirdly laid-back feeling about everything. Once all the Cyber Monday sales were over I mellowed out and now I’m just able to enjoy everything!
To celebrate (and because it’s been forever since I made a free download for y’all!) I created this “LET’S GET LIT with The Christmas Spirit” wallpaper for your phone! I set this one as my home screen and last year’s wallpaper as my lock screen. I hope you enjoy!
Now on to reminiscing over my favorite Instagram moments in November:
This is a little sneak peek of a styled branding shoot coming to the blog next month and is probably my favorite Holiday shoot I’ve ever done. I think you are going to go bananas for it!
Somehow my cooking skills get better as the weather gets cooler and I’m in the mood for a hot meal! I’ve been making Brussels sprouts every way imaginable lately! These were roasted in olive oil, brown sugar and turkey bacon with some pink Himalayan rock salt. So yum!
Listening to records while enjoying a glass of whiskey is one of my favorite past times while relaxing at home. This ’78 album by KC & The Sunshine band is one of my all-time favorites.
I have FINALLY mastered doing my own gel manicures at home and classic, cherry red is my go-to color for December.
This diner in Nashville is the diviest and most delicious place you’ll ever have breakfast. The proprietor (who also waitresses) has red hair, and always wears red lipstick, and calls you things like honey or sweetie, and every single thing on the menu is hand made. I always half expected Soda Pop Curtis to walk in at any moment! After I move away form Nashville I’ll tell y’all all about it, but for now, it’s my secret happy place I can go to every Sunday knowing it won’t be packed! Am I horrible for not being ready to share yet?! Okay, fine. If you REALLY want to know, and swear not to tell the whole internet, drop me a DM and I’ll give you the address! But this must remain our little secret!
Of course Thanksgiving was one of my best memories in November! My Mum always has the most elegant table settings and I get so much inspiration from her. We have a little more traditional, New England meal than your typically turkey and cranberry sauce with foods that were more likely to have been eaten at the time of the first Thanksgiving (barring the pumpkin pie of course!).
How was your November? Are you ready for Christmas or do you wish November had stuck around longer?
