With a full time, 9-5 job, a quickly growing lifestyle blog, an online boutique, and a personal styling services business, you could certainly say I’m a Girl Boss on the GO! My days consists of getting up at 5am (or earlier!) and staying up till midnight (or later!). Through all the tasks, side hustles, and constant, last minute changes in my schedule the ONE thing I can count on to keep me inspired, give me an escape, and help me power through marathon work sessions, is HBO!
My day always starts with a shower, breakfast and taking my time putting on my makeup. This is a really therapeutic time for me and while applying my makeup I like to watch a show that lends to elevating my mood, waking me up, and getting me revved for the day! Almost first thing in the morning I pull up the HBO GO or HBO NOW app and choose something Girl Boss inspired, like VEEP! Depending on the day, and the tasks I have to accomplish, I could internally be relating to Sue, Selina or Amy! (All, strong female characters who know how to GET. IT. DONE.)
I like to watch something lighthearted and funny in the middle of the day during lunch to clear my head and make me smile before heading back to my desk. This is usually when I’m in the mood to re-watch something familiar that makes me laugh, like Sex and the City! I love that the HBO GO app gives me an escape, and a little mood boost, any time I need it, no matter where I am!
After I get home from the office I put in another few hours of work in front of my laptop in my home office. This time working on my blog; writing e-mails, scheduling photo shoots, responding to RSVPs, updating my calendar, editing images, writing copy, etc. It’s about 6:30pm as I’m writing this and I have Big Little Lies playing on my phone next to my laptop as we speak! I grew up with three siblings, so I *need* voices / noise in the room for me to be able to work! A show with well written dialogue, spoken by a variety of interesting voices, is perfect for me to work to in the evenings and on the weekends when I get to catch up on tasks knowing I won’t be interrupted by phone calls. Some people always need music playing to focus… I always need HBO playing to get anything done!
Whenever I can get a workout in (I’ll be honest — this doesn’t happen every day!) I enjoy watching something that distracts me from the fact that I have 45 minutes of jogging on the treadmill ahead of me! My go-to workout shows are Game of Thrones and Westworld! I love something that gets my blood pumping and keeps my attention with unexpected twists and surprises! Before I know it, my workout is over!
I’ll admit it now; I’m a TV junkie, so my show-watching addiction must flow seamlessly with my busy day, and HBO GO makes in incredibly simple and easy to watch all day long! Who else has a favorite HBO show and must know what happened in the story line as soon as the next episode comes out? I know I do! I also love re-watching my favorite episodes for inspiration or because I relate to a certain situation or character. The HBO GO app gives me unlimited access to ALL of HBO – every episode of every HBO original series! I can also stream more of Hollywood’s hit movies before any other streaming service. There’s something to fit my every mood from their addictive series, hilarious comedies, smart talk shows and big blockbusters to thought-provoking documentations and so much more. I can get it all on HBO GO!
