Dusty Rose Valentine’s Makeup

I wasn’t originally going to publish a Valentine’s Day makeup look because I didn’t want to shop for new stuff, but I’ve started this new thing where I try to “shop” my own collection of makeup! I ended up finding some palettes I haven’t used in a while and created this look that was just too pretty not to share! If you’re thinking of creating a last-minute romantic makeup look for today I suggest you go back through your old makeup and see what you can find! You really only need a few shades of blush/pink/peach eye shadows, a dusty/rosy pink lipstick and a liquid illuminator. If you’re really desperate, head to the drugstore! I’ll be linking drugstore “dupes” for all the products I used too!

Dusty Rose Valentine's Day Makeup

Romantic Dusty Rose Makeup for Valentine's Day

For the lips I layered three newly released Maybelline products: 125 Magnetic Mauve Color Sensation Shaping Lip Liner, 565 Almond Rose Matte Lipstick & 02 Grey Envy Vivid Matte Liquid Color Sensational Gloss. Y’all may remember me raving over the vivid matte liquid product before HERE and I’m in love with this new one as much as I was with the original shades! For the eyes I started with a light pink shimmer shadow all over the lid and worked a smokey rose shade into the crease, then blended a deep golden brown into the outer corners and finished with a glitter bronze gold in the center of the lid. For liner I used a small tapered brush and smoked out a line along the upper lashes with a charcoal gray to keep everything soft and romantic. To get the “glowy” skin look I mixed a small amount of liquid illuminator with my foundation and blended with a sponge applicator. I finished with a rich peachy powder blush and a swipe of powder highlighter to really make my skin look healthy and bright! Do your brows and contouring the way you normally would.

I was looking through some shots I took of some beautiful French hotels I stayed at last time I was in Paris and it inspired me to shoot a little boudoir theme collection of my January Favorites! Paris is the easiest city to fall in love with, don’t you think? 🗼❤️

Becca Cosmetics Face Primer Products Review

If you’ve been reading my blog long you know I don’t review many beauty products, and the ones I do mention are typically of the drugstore variety! One of the only name-brand items I have in my makeup arsenal is the BECCA Champagne Pop highlighter. I adore this highlighter and it’s one of the only high-end makeup products I continue to purchase every each time I run out. Because of this I was willing to give this trio of new Becca products a try when offered by Influenster. I was sent the three products shown below for free in exchange for my honest opinion. I was not compensated or promised more free stuff if I give a favorable review! Please know everything I’m about to say are my true thoughts!

Becca Blur Cosmetics Review

I wore the First Light Priming Filter Instant Complexion Refresh (whew, say that 10 times fast!) under my foundation starting at 7am Monday morning until 6:30pm Monday night when I filmed the video above. I use a drugstore foundation, so I’m pretty hard to impress when it comes to primers because I expect it to work hard! However, after just one use, I’m sold on this primer. I think the way my makeup looks in the video clip above is testimony enough! This primer has a delicate lavender lemon scent and goes on like velvet, which makes it a pleasure to apply!

Becca Blur Cosmetics Review

As I mentioned in my October Favorites I’m a huge fan of the champagne pop Becca highlighter, which is also a golden-toned product, but the Soft Light Blurring Powder included in the Influenster box was very pigmented, almost to the point of being bronze. I ended up mixing it with my favorite no-color RCMA powder and it blended like a dream with the Becca Soft Kabuki brush. I noticed my t-zone pores pretty much completely disappeared, and after 11+ hours this powder had not sunk in or creased and my face still felt like satin!

Becca Blur Cosmetics Review

I have combination dry/sensitive skin and these products had just enough glow power to give me a healthy, moisturized look without turning oily or looking greasy after several hours of wear. I’m going to finish using the powder before I decide if I will purchase another one, but I do think it’s worth the price, and had it been recommended to me, I would have purchased and at least tried it once!

Becca Blur Cosmetics Review

This kabuki brush is one of the softest brushes I now own! I used it to apply the BECCA blurring powder, as well as RCMA powder, and it seems to have no problem blending varying textures. It really grabs the products and disperses it evenly with almost no fallout. I wouldn’t say it’s the best kabuki brush I’ve ever tried but it delivers and is a good product for the price point I think! I’d definitely recommend it to someone looking for a this style brush.

Emeralds & Opals Winter Manicure

A stunning manicure concept inspired by emeralds and opals by my favorite celebrity stylist, Jen Tsourvakas!

We started with a deep green base topped with micro glitter and opalescent paper shards and finished with a natural white base on the ring finger covered in iridescent micro glitter. To book a manicure with Jen, call Parlour 3 in Brentwood, TN and tell them Rachel sent you!

Jen was so incredibly patient with me on this design! I *kind of* (not really) had an idea of what I wanted and she created this look based on my requests for “THE PERFECT green, and some glitter, but maybe like 2-3 different colors and for sure some iridescent paper shards, but I don’t know what shape I want them in, maybe triangles? Maybe like broken glass looking? For sure I want some white too, like to represent snow?” Bless her heart!😂
