One of my favorite requests to receive from friends and family is my help finding a gift for someone special. Over the years I’ve been asked to put together Easter baskets and I thought I’d share some of my favorite things to include for a non-food/candy basket for grown up girls! These photos are of a ‘mock’ basket of ideas that include gifts I have personally received that would be perfect to give for Easter! (Of course, I’m keeping all of these items, but you get the idea!)
I love seasonally packaged makeup like this darling bunny shaped Lipsmacker! Bonus: It also smells and tastes amazing! The Anastasia Beverly Hills highlight palette is a new beauty release and very hot right now. All the cool girls are going to be trying to get their hands on this one for Spring! Bath bombs are another currently trending item. Try to find some in fresh Spring colors like these from Forever21, Urban Outfitters or Etsy.
This fun-sized-Instagram-worthy Instax camera is one of my favorite things I ever received in a brand PR package and it makes the perfect gift! You can pick one up from here or here. If you know her size consider some athletic gear like a Fitbit watch strap or a pair of trainers. I don’t know any girl who doesn’t love a fresh new pair of gym kicks! These pale pink ones by Nike are comfy and chic!
Mugs are one of the easiest gifts to find and give. There are always cute ones for ever season at places like Target and Michael’s. This pink and gold “I Get You” mug is from TJMaxx and was gifted to me on Valentine’s Day by a dear friend.
The basket and filling is the easiest part. Choose something a little ‘nicer’ than your typical dollar-bin straw version and opt for a metal style in silver or gold. This one was only $5 from HomeGoods and I picked up the squiggle shred from the greeting card section of the drugstore.
You can always tuck a few seasonally shaped chocolates somewhere in the basket, just to make it quintessentially Easter, but it’s not a requirement! I tried to make this whole process as simple as possible, so if you have a husband/boyfriend or someone who isn’t super creative with Seasonal gifting to worry about, send this link their way! Hopefully they’ll be pointed in the right direction and be inspired!
Ya’ll have probably realized from all my social media postings that I’m not a ‘casual’ person. I legitimately do not know how to dress something down. My version of dressed down always gets me questions like, ‘did you just come from a wedding?’ No. No, I did not. But the ironic thing about my style is that I LOVE tee-shirts and I have dozens of them. I wear them almost every day, but I add baubles, lipstick and heels! Today I’m showing you how I style up something simple like a classic graphic tee.
The tee in these photos was sent to me by the lovely Katie from Sass & Cloth. All of Katie’s tees feature sassy sayings and catchy quotes. My favorite tee is the one you’ll see in this article. It has a quote from one of my favorite TV shows! I’m highlighting this tee on the NEW silver sequin hangers available in my Etsy shop. I’ve had so many requests over the years for silver sequins and I finally made it happen. Thank you for your patience!
The thing I love best about a simple, black and white tee is that you can pair it with literally any style or color combo.

+++ One little note about the fit of the tee+++ They do run small/slim cut. I wear a size 6-8 in almost everything and had to choose a size XL in the tee for my boobs to fit without stretching the wording. Just be aware of that when ordering 🙂

I don’t think Father’s day is made as big a to-do over as Mother’s day because we don’t SEE as much of what Dad does on a daily basis… he goes to work, comes home and has dinner, relaxes with us in front of the TV, suffers in silence when re-runs of Downton Abbey are playing (even though he’d rather watch the news) and does things on the weekends like clean out the attic or mow the lawn… He’s the one we call with our troubles like a flat tire or strange noises outside our apartment… That’s what a Dad does. He protects and loves; all without expecting anything in return. I was very blessed to have a Father like this. Even as an adult I’ve cried on his shoulder and looking back I see he was usually right about boys or fashion even though I didn’t at the time! But, my Dad (bless his heart) is SO hard to shop for because of two reasons: He’s the ‘Dad with everything’ and he never has an ongoing wish list like I can count on from all women I know! However he is sentimental (in the photographs-of-his-children-on-his-office-desk sort of way — and he ALWAYS remembers birthdays and anniversaires) so with the fact in mind that all men are unique I’ve attempted to compile a list that would fit a range of tastes and styles for every Dad on your list!
1. This card from Urbanic
quite simply says it all. It’s also pretty enough to frame! Plus the design is mature and youthful at the same time which makes it perfect for any age range of children to give! $5.50 // 2. Sturdy customizable toiletries bag or media case — perfect for keeping things organized on business trips and vacations. From Monogrammed Memories
$15.50 (with three letter monogram) // 3. Every Dad deserves a little pampering even when he’s on the go. Give him this Jet Set Traveler trio by Jack Black for prickle-free kisses every time! $25 from Sephora
. // 4. I love DIY jar gifts! For the golfer Dad gather some golf balls, a memo pad and pencil (for keeping score), a gift certificate for 18 holes at his favorite course (plus he gets to pick whatever weekend he wants to redeem his gift!). Click through HERE
for photo tutorial. // 5. For the Father with traditional tastes: a custom blended whisky. Choose from flavors with names like, ‘Smoke on the Water’ and ‘Cocoa-Nuts’ and personalize the label. Starting at about $75 from Whiskey Blender
. // 6. For the posh Dad with a flare for fashion; this vintage gray number by Christian Dior. Available from THIS
Etsy shop $60. // 7. Baked goods are always a good idea. Order these delicious jammy biscuits from Bee’s Bakery
. 10/$33. // 8. Does your Dad fancy himself a chef? Order him personalized labels to brand his special creations like that secret beer brew or his famous basting sauce! From My Own Labels
. Starting at $0.88 per label. // 9. For the Father with everything else; a luxurious artisan shaving brush. $75 from The Art of Shaving
For the art lover Dad! Print off this gorgeous water color quote and frame so he can remember how much he is loved.
So you’ve already decided on a gift and it’s already in a box but you want that extra special touch… wrap in some plain brown paper + get Dad a new tie and pen (men can never have too many nice ties and pens!) Use a glue gun and some fabric to make the pocket. Voila! Two extra little gifts and a wrapping job he’ll always be proud of you for!
