How does someone who doesn’t like colors other than black and white celebrate a hue saturated holiday like Easter? They DIY everything in black and white of course!
Being Catholic I love Easter; Couple that with my love of spray paint and you get my version of Easter gifts and décor! I took a plain bunny ears headband ($2) and a plastic bunny container ($2) from Walgreens and gave them a little makeover. Scroll down for instructional photos and a video tutorial 👯
The black and white Chanel bow on the bunny you may recognize from a previous DIY on this blog. It’s the remnants of the packaging from a bottle of Chanel perfume!
I used chalkboard paint to achieve a matte black finish.
Would you like to get a Chanel bunny full of chocolate and treats for Easter? I know I would!
I’ve named her Miss Cocoa Couture! 🐰🍫
What do you think of a black and white, 1960s inspired Easter? Leave me a comment!
I don’t follow the runway shows (except for Dior & Elie Saab; be still my heart!) but after seeing the Fall ’17 Michael Kors collection come across my social media I had to check it out! The instant vibe I got was, “Paris Meets Prep,” and somehow the whole collection looked startlingly familiar… My Pinterest board, “5th Avenue at 5am” could have been a literal inspiration/mood board for this collection, which is why I fell in love with it!
Give me all the navy blue and white! Things I love about this collection: The platform heels, wide shoulders and tapered waists, wide belts, double breasted men’s wear cut jackets and coats, pinstripes, and all the suit separates you can mix and match!
Do you follow runway shows every season? Who are your favorites and how do they give you inspiration for your own style?
Simple and sweet blush pink is my favorite Valentine’s Day look! Add a little lace and sparkle and you have the perfect, romantic ensemble. A subtle sweetheart neckline, sequin cardigan, billowy skirt, black flats and demure side pony tail create the vintage vibe of this 1950s inspired outfit.
Somehow my brother always knows just how to make me look good in a photo! I have him to thank for these shots! I wish I could take him on every vacation with me! All photos taken at Culzean Castle in Scotland.
A new pair of Christmas pajamas are my go-to gift to myself every year! I seriously spend hours combing my favorite boutiques and sites to find the perfect pair and subsequent countless hours accessorizing it! This year I was with my Mama when I found the pair and was just so tickled with how the whole look turned out!
Christmas is the one time of year I go all out kitschy and colorful because I love the over-the-topstylings of a retro Holiday. (Lots of bright hues and a white plastic tree are a must!) I hope you enjoy my 60s inspired Kitschmas pajamas outfit! I’ll be posting more photos of my decor later this week 🙂
My blue velvet slippers are some I picked up from somewhere like Sears or Kohls for under $15 maybe 3 years ago. The little fox appliques are from THIS Etsy shop and simply hot-glued onto the slippers! I linked some less expensive, plain velvet slippers below so you can DIY your own fox slippers if you like!
