DIY Music Festival Boots + CMA Nashville Outfit

DIY Country Music Festival Boots #gunsandcrosses

As someone who has now lived in Nashville for three CMA fests I’m almost ashamed to admit I’ve never been to the actual festival! It’s hot, crowded, humid and expensive, even for someone who lives here and is used to those sorts of conditions in the downtown area! Instead of going to the fest each year, I enjoy attending the free concerts, events and parties in the bars and hotels all over town (as a blogger I typically have invites to at least one CMA related event every night for the week! #perks)! I get the effect, energy and enjoyment of CMA fest without dealing with the insanity! Also, tell me honestly, can you see me in cut-off denim shorts, cow girl boots and an “I Believe in Nashville” tee, holding a beer and shouting out song lyrics in a crowd of 10,000 people? I can’t either. Hence my very glamorized “fest” look, and DIY that I’ll be sharing with you today! Even if you’re not attending any actual fest concerts you can totally rock this outfit during Fest Week, just for fun! Wear it on a dinner date, for brunch, to attend an event, out to a bar, anywhere you want!

Southern Sweetheart in Scotland

Simple and sweet blush pink is my favorite Valentine’s Day look! Add a little lace and sparkle and you have the perfect, romantic ensemble. A subtle sweetheart neckline, sequin cardigan, billowy skirt, black flats and demure side pony tail create the vintage vibe of this 1950s inspired outfit.

Somehow my brother always knows just how to make me look good in a photo! I have him to thank for these shots! I wish I could take him on every vacation with me! All photos taken at Culzean Castle in Scotland.

15 Modern & Chic No-Carve Pumpkins You Can DIY in an Afternoon

I always *plan* to carve a real pumpkin every year but it never happens. If you’re like me, and you love Autumn decor, but you wish it sort of seamlessly looked amazing with the rest of  your home, then this round-up is for you! My house is white, natural wood and gray, so every season it’s essentially a blank decorating slate. However, I hate spending time and money on something that’s only going to be out for 2 months, so I usually hit up the sale bin at Target & Michael’s to find the pumpkins no one wanted to cover them with spray paint and a few fun embellishments. It’s no mess, fun to do, and I don’t feel guilty about making a new one every year because they’re so inexpensive.

Room To Wear // A Decorated Space Imagined into an Outfit

When I encounter a truly beautiful space my mind immediate jumps to imagining each element as a piece in a carefully curated outfit. I like to imagine a space translated to clothing because fashion is one of the primary ways I express creativity, and dissecting each element of a space almost gives me insight into the intended impact that space was meant to have on the inhabitant.
