Real vs. Steal // Boho Glam Streetstyle

Boho Glam Streetstyle Dupe!

It’s no secret I love Amazon.com! At least half of my wardrobe and house is furnished from Amazon finds! Many times you can even high-quality, designer-inspired dupes that are almost as good as the real thing, for 70% off or more! Today I’m linking items from four of my favorite Amazon stores. These are items I personally own and can recommend and vouch for! My best tip for shopping on Amazon is to carefully read sizing info and materials description to make sure you’re getting exactly what you expect. Many times items like shoes, clothes and bags will be listed in Euro sizes or centimeters, so double check before buying. Also, never fully rely on the stock photos, especially if it looks like the image was pulled from a blog or a designer site. Instead, look at the feed back ratings and customer photos and read a mix of good and bad reviews! Look at the photos in the store’s other listings. Do they compare in quality and style? Or are some images clearly better than others, or photo-shopped to crop out logos or other watermarks? If the image looks too doctored, chances are it’s not a photo of the item for sale! Use common sense and never buy a knock off! If the price is too good to be true it’s probably fake. However, if the item is simply a ‘dupe’ or ‘designer inspired’ with the Amazon store’s own logo, you’re good to go! Lastly, see if you size and color choice qualifies for Prime shipping. Many times not all the size and color combos listed are Amazon Prime, but ship directly from the factory overseas. If you’re okay with waiting 2-4 weeks, that’s fine (I have done it many times!). But be aware of where your item is shipping from and allow for transit time to avoid frustration, especially if you ordered an item thinking you would have it in time to wear to a specific event!

Michael Kors February 2017 | Paris Meets Prep

I don’t follow the runway shows (except for Dior & Elie Saab; be still my heart!) but after seeing the Fall ’17 Michael Kors collection come across my social media I had to check it out! The instant vibe I got was, “Paris Meets Prep,” and somehow the whole collection looked startlingly familiar… My Pinterest board, “5th Avenue at 5am” could have been a literal inspiration/mood board for this collection, which is why I fell in love with it!

The Look For Less // Spring Favorites

Y’all probably know by now I love a good deal! The only thing I love more than a good deal is sharing my finds with YOU!

I must admit I have a bit of a JustFab.com obsession. What they say on their TV commercials is true… the prices are good and the quality is better. If you’ve ever shopped at ZARA than you have something to compare JustFab to. The only thing about JF I have to be careful about is swooping in on their flash sales immediately upon getting a notification e-mail! Let me tell you, the cute stuff is always the first to go!

5 Places I Score Luxury Brands at a Fraction of the Price

If you’re like me you consider fashion to be an art form. And just like an exceptional painting by a master artist, high end fashion carries it’s own price tag. Owning luxury fashion labels isn’t so much about the prestige for me as it is about feeling like I’m part of something amazing. Carrying a Chanel bag is like looking at the Eiffel Tower for the first time… And those are things I will never forget! Nothing compares and nobody is going to argue that. For many luxury brand admirers it is not feasible or fiscally responsible to drop $3k on something you’re going to wear on your feet or carry under your arm. This doesn’t mean you can’t have a taste of the real thing though! I’ve rounded up a list of my top 5 places to score luxury brands at insane discounts. These shops are 100% reputable and I’ve personally shopped at all of them with great experiences.

Luxury Goods For Less

No. 1 The Real Real

Get $25 off your first purchase when you create an account + Use code ‘COOL’ for an additional 20% through 8/25 (some restrictions apply)

They have: Men’s | Women’s | Jewelry | Art

The Real Real is a luxury consignment shop where you get up to 70% of whatever your item sells for if you’re consigning. For $5 a month as a buyer, get 24-hour advance access to sales and special invitations to monthly promotions. This is a great service if you’re looking for something specific that’s hard to find. They have everything from Tory Burch to Rolex. Sometimes items even go on discount from what they were originally listed at! I scored a $225 Clare V. clutch for $19. Insane.

No. 2 The Runway At TJMaxx

10% off the first day you shop with a TJX store card + points towards rewards certificates every time you shop

They have: Men’s | Women’s | Home

The Runway at TJMaxx is the luxury portion of TJMaxx online. They have brand new items, typically at least 25% off or more, and carry Valentino, Louboutin and Fendi, to name a few. As far as jewelry goes, I’ve seen designer costume jewelry but not real gemstones. This may just be when I was shopping though so keep your eyes peeled! Luxury Goods For Less

No. 3 Luxury Garage Sale

They have: Men’s | Women’s | Jewelry| Vintage

Luxury Garage Sale is a lot like The Real Real except they also carry vintage items. These are all gently, barely or not used items at all (the listing for an item will say if it’s NWT). Some luxury brands depreciate when they hit ‘vintage’ status but you’re still getting the quality craftsmanship and brand name, so it’s a win-win to pay less! This shop carries literally hundreds of designers.

No. 4 Rent The Runway Clearance

They have: Women’s clothing, accessories, bags and costume jewelry

You may know Rent the Runway as a luxury rental service but they also clearance some of their pieces into rotation retirement. The pieces are still in excellent condition but it’s a bit like purchasing a consignment piece in that you know it won’t come in all the original packaging with tags and never have been worn outside the dressing room. But when you’re paying $40 for a Monique Lhuillier cocktail dress I don’t think you’re be complaining! As I’m writing this post I see they have some TIBI, Badgley Mischka and Kate Spade pieces for under $100, to name a few… and those were just dresses in my size! Luxury Goods For Less

No. 5 My Habit by Amazon

Get free shipping on $99+ with Prime membership

They have: Everything. Seriously.

My Habit by Amazon is one of the most reliable places to shop discount luxury goods. They carry everything from the lower level luxury brands like Michael Kors, Gucci and Hugo Boss to higher end brands like Tom Ford and Hermes. Most of the items I’ve seen are at least 40% off retail and they’re all new. With Amazon you also have that added security that you know what you’re getting is the real deal because they have a reputation to uphold. They also carry a lot of current season items so you’re not sifting through tons of stuff nobody wants, and you don’t either. Those are my top 5 favorites, that I’ve had personal experience shopping with, but I’ve listed a few more highly recommended sites to check out below:

  • GILT | 30 days free shipping when you sign up + 2% cash back through Ebates
  • HauteLook by Nordstrom | Refer friends get $20 + free shipping $100+
  • Authentic Luxury Goods | Their eBay auctions can lower the price
  • Real Deal Collection | Check the Sale section for even deeper discounts
  • Secret Sales | Get notifications when retailers have sample sales, flash sales, or inventory reduction sales on luxury goods

           Happy shopping and good luck!
