I wasn’t originally going to publish a Valentine’s Day makeup look because I didn’t want to shop for new stuff, but I’ve started this new thing where I try to “shop” my own collection of makeup! I ended up finding some palettes I haven’t used in a while and created this look that was just too pretty not to share! If you’re thinking of creating a last-minute romantic makeup look for today I suggest you go back through your old makeup and see what you can find! You really only need a few shades of blush/pink/peach eye shadows, a dusty/rosy pink lipstick and a liquid illuminator. If you’re really desperate, head to the drugstore! I’ll be linking drugstore “dupes” for all the products I used too!
For the lips I layered three newly released Maybelline products: 125 Magnetic Mauve Color Sensation Shaping Lip Liner, 565 Almond Rose Matte Lipstick & 02 Grey Envy Vivid Matte Liquid Color Sensational Gloss. Y’all may remember me raving over the vivid matte liquid product before HERE and I’m in love with this new one as much as I was with the original shades! For the eyes I started with a light pink shimmer shadow all over the lid and worked a smokey rose shade into the crease, then blended a deep golden brown into the outer corners and finished with a glitter bronze gold in the center of the lid. For liner I used a small tapered brush and smoked out a line along the upper lashes with a charcoal gray to keep everything soft and romantic. To get the “glowy” skin look I mixed a small amount of liquid illuminator with my foundation and blended with a sponge applicator. I finished with a rich peachy powder blush and a swipe of powder highlighter to really make my skin look healthy and bright! Do your brows and contouring the way you normally would.
I’ve mentioned many a time on this blog and on my social media how much I love Missguided clothes and how often I purchase from them! They have the prettiest, feminine pieces for great deals and they run SALES all the time! Right now they’re offering 40% OFF EVERYTHING and I had to share a round-up of my favorite red and pink pieces! So many of these are in my shopping cart right now — which ones should I get?!

Even more than my birthday and Christmas I love Valentine’s Day! It’s the one day of the year you can be beyond romantic and sappy and no one can make fun of you! You can wear pink and red and dress up without anyone thinking it’s odd or asking you, “why?” Chocolate calories don’t count and people are just sweeter. ❤️ I love giving gifts on Valentine’s Day but I also don’t hate receiving them! Here are 6 things that would make my little heart go pitter-patter if handed on the 14th!
A retro inspired card from Rifle Paper Co. containing sweet nothings and declarations of undying love, A blush velvet cross body bag like this or this one, My favorite YSL cologne, A 50’s fashion inspired faux fur leopard coat, Overnight macaron delivery from ‘Lette, Roses that last a year from Venus et Fleur(pink roses please in case my husband is reading! #subtlehint) 😍
I don’t want give away any surprises, but I have to admit I snagged a few things from this list to gift my BFF for this Galentine’s Day, so you know I’m serious when I tell you I love these picks! Do you exchange Valentine’s Day gifts with your bestie or just your significant other? I’d love to hear about your special V-Day traditions!
Simple and sweet blush pink is my favorite Valentine’s Day look! Add a little lace and sparkle and you have the perfect, romantic ensemble. A subtle sweetheart neckline, sequin cardigan, billowy skirt, black flats and demure side pony tail create the vintage vibe of this 1950s inspired outfit.
Somehow my brother always knows just how to make me look good in a photo! I have him to thank for these shots! I wish I could take him on every vacation with me! All photos taken at Culzean Castle in Scotland.
