Michael Kors February 2017 | Paris Meets Prep

I don’t follow the runway shows (except for Dior & Elie Saab; be still my heart!) but after seeing the Fall ’17 Michael Kors collection come across my social media I had to check it out! The instant vibe I got was, “Paris Meets Prep,” and somehow the whole collection looked startlingly familiar… My Pinterest board, “5th Avenue at 5am” could have been a literal inspiration/mood board for this collection, which is why I fell in love with it!

Give me all the navy blue and white! Things I love about this collection: The platform heels, wide shoulders and tapered waists, wide belts, double breasted men’s wear cut jackets and coats, pinstripes, and all the suit separates you can mix and match!

Do you follow runway shows every season? Who are your favorites and how do they give you inspiration for your own style?

Southern Sweetheart in Scotland

Simple and sweet blush pink is my favorite Valentine’s Day look! Add a little lace and sparkle and you have the perfect, romantic ensemble. A subtle sweetheart neckline, sequin cardigan, billowy skirt, black flats and demure side pony tail create the vintage vibe of this 1950s inspired outfit.

Somehow my brother always knows just how to make me look good in a photo! I have him to thank for these shots! I wish I could take him on every vacation with me! All photos taken at Culzean Castle in Scotland.

Kitschmas Morning Pajamas + a DIY

A new pair of Christmas pajamas are my go-to gift to myself every year! I seriously spend hours combing my favorite boutiques and sites to find the perfect pair and subsequent countless hours accessorizing it! This year I was with my Mama when I found the pair and was just so tickled with how the whole look turned out!

Satin Christmas Pajamas

Christmas is the one time of year I go all out kitschy and colorful because I love the over-the-top stylings of a retro Holiday. (Lots of bright hues and a white plastic tree are a must!) I hope you enjoy my 60s inspired Kitschmas pajamas outfit! I’ll be posting more photos of my decor later this week 🙂

My blue velvet slippers are some I picked up from somewhere like Sears or Kohls for under $15 maybe 3 years ago. The little fox appliques are from THIS Etsy shop and simply hot-glued onto the slippers! I linked some less expensive, plain velvet slippers below so you can DIY your own fox slippers if you like!

Earrings were custom designed by Chouettes, bracelet is a vintage antique shop find, Ring is vintage and belonged to my great grandmother, rhinestone Holly Pin is from THIS Etsy shop, velvet turban from Amazon (of all random places!) HERE, sequin hanger from Glitter & Bow, Party poppers HERE, Grosgrain ribbon HERE & HERE, Gift wrap and cocktail napkins from HomeGoods, Gift boxes from Target, Gift tags handmade by me.

Why Festive Ear Bobs Are the New Holiday Outfit

why-a-new-pair-of-statement-earrings-is-all-you-need-for-your-holiday-outfit

Towards the end of the first week of December I start to get burnt out on festive outfits and  begin gravitating towards the two outfits I know I look great in despite not working out and eating every Christmas cookie put in front of my face! I have two current holiday outfit go-to’s which serve for any type of occasion: A.) Something involving a tunic top + fur vest + leggings + boots (all black, obvs.), B.) Something involving an LBD + heels (again, all black, obvs.). I’ll switch between a glossy nude lip or matte red lip, and my hair up or down, but for the most part, that’s it!

However, I have a secret weapon to updating those two outfits, and setting them apart as “special” holiday outfits night after night: Earrings! Sparkly, gorgeous earrings! Yes, my dears, Holly was right; Give a woman the right earrings and she can rule the world! (or something to that effect!)

I’ve linked earrings from my favorite designers from $15 – $350. Click any of the links below to be taken straight to the website the item is sold on (no logging into an app or website rigmarole!)
